Breed Standards

General impression: dog harmoniously built, light, very lively, muscular, medium size. In measurements lenght of trunk outbalance over the hight. Trunk rebuilt a bit in back part, set on not very high paws. Head carried horizontally or a bit lifted. Tail carried vertically or hang down obliquely.

Beachaviour/character: calm and balanced, devoted to his owner, moderate to strangers. Self confident dog, not afraid, easy to lead, but when afraid still a bit agressive.

Head:Brain part wide, flat, forehead clearly separate, eyebrow arch very good developed, occipital bump mediocre expressive.

Face part: nose of good size, not too wide, nostrils good. Black or dark red.

Vat: under eyes a bit separated, bit shorter than brain part, wide enough, not in point. Back of nouse flat.

Lips: correctly droopy, medium thickness.

Jaws: strong with perfect, regular and complete bite, upper incisors without any gap set horizontally before lower incisors. Complete dentition , 42 healthy teeth.

Cheeks: mediocre pointed.

Eyes: clear, sharp look. Not too big and not too round. Dark brown or lighter. Eyelids good adjacent and correctly pigmentated.

Ears: lenght a bit bigger than medium, but reaching only to pick of the nose, heavy, hihg and wide set, at the bottom round without curls.

Neck: medium long and strong. A bit of loose skin near the throat.

Trunk: Withers is not very cleary. A smooth passage neck into back. Back strong.

Tail: medium lenght, highly set, carried vertically or hang down obliquealy.

Front paws: seen from front straight and paralel, seen from a side very good set in addidtion to the trunk. Well slanting, laid back shoulder blade. Strongly muscled. Upper arm long with god and lean muscles. Elbows close fitting to body, turning neither in or out. Forearm lean, vertical and straight. Strong bone , very well uscled. Front feet spoon shaped with well arched, ight toes s well as sufficiently cushioned, coarse, resistant ane wel pigmented pads. Feet move parallel, instance and movement turning neither in nor out. Nails black or horn colour.

Hindquarters: Strong bone. Seen from front straight and parallel. Good angulation. Upper thigh broad and very muscular. Stifle strong. Lower thigh relatevely long muscular and sinewy. Hck joint is strong. Rear pastern short and standing vertical. Hind feet spoon shaped, with well arched, tight toes as well as sufficiently cushioned coarse resistant and well pigmented pads. Feet move parallel in stance and movement turning neither in nor out. Nails black or horn colour.

Movement: ground covering, with good reach in front and strong drive from rear.

Skin: strong and tight fitting

Hair: dense, close fitting, moderately harsh with little gloss. Finer on head and leathers, harsher and longer on belly, legs and tail.

Colour: Deep red, deer red, reddish brown, tan also clear fawn to biscuit colour, reddish gray as the winter coat of a deer, also brindled or interspersed with black hairs. The basic colour on the back is generally more intense, muzzle and leathers dark. Tail mostly intersperse with dark hair. Small light-coloured patch on chest permitted.

Size: Height at withers: Dogs 47 to 52 cm, Bitches: 44 to 48 cm.
No departure from above permitted in either dogs or bitches.

Faults: Any departure from the foregioing points should be considered as fault and the seriousness with wihich the falt should be regarded should be exact proportion to its degree.

Serious faults: flesh coloured nouse, mouth slightly over or undershot. Partial pince bite. Very loose eyelids. Marked hollow or roach back. Very flat or barrel shaped chest, very in or out elbow. Distinctly overbuilt hindquarters. Hindlegs very close, cow-hocked or bow-shaped, in stance or movement. Too fine or thin coat. Strong deviation in colour, black colour wiyh red markings. Deviation in size.

Disqualifying faults: Markedly over or undershot, wry mouth. Missing teeth (except P1). Ectropion, entropion. Tail kinked from birth. Weakness in temperament.

Attention! Male animals sholud have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum.
